Its amazing that the city can have such a beautiful structure, amazing detail in the brickwork for all to love and admire (who crafted it?) and they there’s this hideous doorway of crappy board covering the entrance. Great photo!!
It’s a metaphor for the state of this place. Ruinous beauty amidst luxury overbuilding.
I admire that building very much, too, and I have been waiting for them to get to the doors. Installation has started. I’d also point out that they added a bulkhead at the roof which has turned out to be sensitive to the original building. That and the restoration of the doors are yet more benefits of the Historic District.
