The Civil Service Bookshop at 89 Worth Street in Lower Manhattan has an old yellow sign that says “Civil Service Test Books” and “Latest Paperbacks.” So what’s the deal, I needled the owner, Roslyn Rosenfeld, you need the test books to get the job, and then the paperbacks to read, on the job? “Don’t be a wise guy, I’ve had a hard day,” Ms. Rosenfeld snapped on Wednesday. “I’m really not in the mood.” – COREY KILGANNON – NY TIMES – She Sells the Books on the Civil Service – February 5, 2009,
