And they had the nerve to crop it! Apparently, someone wrote to “Apartment Therapy.com” with a problem: She loves fading ads but doesn’t know how to get it on her living-room wall. HELLO! BUY MY ART! And credit me when you use it on your bleeping blog. Read my comments.

Wes Carr’s Train Car Logos

I took it upon myself to do some layout for this posting of Wes Carr’s Traincar Sides.  Here’s an anecdote from Wes:

Here are a few freight car logos… it’s fascinating to think that some of the freight cars in the North American railroad network are more than 30 years old and have never been repainted.  It’s still possible to find logos from railroads that disappeared (through sale, merger, bankruptcy, etc) in the early 1970s.  I’ve been assembling a collection of these and sooner or later I will probably assemble a large collection of them in one image.

There is usually a building (which I’ve always wanted to get on the roof) adjacent to this old movie house, but apparently they are building something new since there is an empty lot for sale there now.

The first shot was taken from atop the “Scotch & Sirloin” building. The second was taken over from North Station near Canal. There is a series of shots taken from up here I will post subsequently.
