An addition was completed in 1922, and in 1923 the hotel was renamed\u00a0<strong>Hotel Ambassador<\/strong>. In 1929 the theater was converted to a garage.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>The building can be seen in the movie\u00a0Metro, featuring\u00a0Eddie Murphy.\u00a0Science fiction\u00a0and\u00a0true crime\u00a0author\u00a0Miriam Allen deFord\u00a0was a noted resident from 1936 until her death in 1975.
