People dressed in white were busy assembling this altar. Here are some shots of it and one close-up with some alterations.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"MS SANS SERIF,HELVETICA,ARIAL,GENEVA\" size=\"2\"><b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fadingad.com\/RaghupatiRaghav.mp3\" target=\"_blank\">The music here<\/a> is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gandhiserve.org\/information\/music_online\/Raghupati_text\/Raghupati_text.html\">Raghupati                  Raghav<\/a><\/b><\/font>&#8211; a Hindi prayer that was Mahatma Gandhi&#8217;s favorite. This medley from the <i>Gandhi<\/i> soundtrack is of this prayer and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gandhiserve.org\/information\/music_online\/Vaishnav_text\/Vaishnav_text.html\">Vaishnav                  Jan<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p align=\"justify\"><font face=\"Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sanatansociety.org\/hindu_gods_and_goddesses\/shiva.htm\">Shiva<\/a>        is the destroyer of the world, following <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sanatansociety.org\/hindu_gods_and_goddesses\/brahma.htm\">Brahma<\/a>        the creator and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sanatansociety.org\/hindu_gods_and_goddesses\/vishnu.htm\">Vishnu<\/a>        the preserver, after which Brahma again creates the world and so on. Shiva        is responsible for change both in the form of death and destruction and        in the positive sense of the shedding of old habits. In Satyam, Shivam,        Sundaram or Truth, Goodness and Beauty, Shiva also represents the most essential        goodness. Shiva is the god of the yogis, self-controlled and celibate, while        at the same time a lover of his spouse (shakti). Shiva&#8217;s first wife was        Sati and his second wife was Parvati, also known as Uma, Gauri, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sanatansociety.org\/hindu_gods_and_goddesses\/durga.htm\">Durga<\/a>,        <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sanatansociety.org\/hindu_gods_and_goddesses\/kali.htm\">Kali<\/a>,        and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sanatansociety.org\/hindu_gods_and_goddesses\/shakti.htm\">Shakti<\/a>.        His sons are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sanatansociety.org\/hindu_gods_and_goddesses\/ganesha.htm\">Ganesha<\/a>        and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sanatansociety.org\/hindu_gods_and_goddesses\/kartikay.htm\">Kartikeya<\/a>.
