Jump<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">December 1st is World AIDS Day. As always, I post on this day thoughtfully. I&#8217;ve lived more than half my life with HIV. I will be fifty in March. A small miracle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;padding-left:30px;\">In Hebrew, the term\u00a0<em>mitzvah<\/em> &#8220;has also come to express an act of human kindness. According to the\u00a0teachings of Judaism, all\u00a0moral laws are, or are derived from,\u00a0divine commandments. &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mitzvah\" target=\"_blank\">Wikipedia<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align:justify;\">If you haven&#8217;t planned one today, perform a mitzvah for someone you know who has been affected by HIV\/AIDS.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">To further quote Wikipedia:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;padding-left:30px;\">The opinions of the\u00a0Talmudic rabbis are divided between those who seek the\u00a0purpose of the\u00a0<em>mitzvot<\/em> and those who do not question them. The latter argue that if the reason for each\u00a0<em>mitzvah<\/em> could be determined, people might try to achieve what they see as the purpose of the\u00a0<em>mitzvah<\/em>, without actually performing the mitzvah itself.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align:center;\">Don&#8217;t overthink the mitzvah! Just do it!<\/h3>\n<p>Waiting for the big miracle.
