In 1866, philosopher <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/John_Stuart_Mill\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"John Stuart Mill\">John Stuart Mill<\/a> (author of \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Subjection_of_Women\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"The Subjection of Women\">The Subjection of Women<\/a>\u201d) presented a women\u2019s petition to the British parliament; and supported an amendment to the 1867 Reform Bill. Others have lobbied and campaigned against feminism. Today, academics like <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Michael_Flood\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Michael Flood\">Michael Flood<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Michael_Messner\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Michael Messner\">Michael Messner<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Michael_Kimmel\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Michael Kimmel\">Michael Kimmel<\/a> are involved with <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Men%27s_studies\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Men's studies\">men&#8217;s studies<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pro-feminism\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Pro-feminism\">pro-feminism<\/a>.<\/i><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#808000\"><i>Other men have campaigned against feminism. During the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Suffragettes\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Suffragettes\">suffragettes<\/a>&#8216; campaign anti-suffragists numbered 160 in 1902 in Britain.
