Pan Morigan

The composer/musician Pan Morigan who lends a contemporary vision to traditional Celtic music will be performing a solo concert. Last January, Morigan gave a remarkable performance and is graciously giving the New York audience an encore performance.

Dreams: Pan Morigan in solo concert
Time and Place:
Saturday May 21st at 8:00 P.M. at the Fading Ad Gallery

Singer, composer, and instrumentalist Pan Morigan is known for her passionate, wide-ranging voice--four heart stopping octaves, sty-listic versatility, and charismatic stage performances. Morigan, who grew up with Irish and Greek music, Jazz and American Folk and Rock, writes songs that bend genres and defy boundaries. Her recent musical adventures have included an international tour with Bobby McFerrin and his all-acapella vocal ensemble, Voicestra, and concerts with an Irish children’s choir and orchestra at Charleville Castle, Tullamore, Ireland. Pan Morigan is the Musical Director of Chrysalis Theatre Eclectic.

For this concert, Pan will perform songs from her new album of originals, Firemoon and Other Mysteries and her INDIE award winning CD, Castles of Gold, which she produced for Public Radio International. She plays guitar, violin, accordion, and octave mandolin. At the Hannover, Germany Festival, Folk auf der Bad Insel, she was dubbed the “audience’s favorite.” Writing for Time Out, Tzivia Gover says, “Morigan’s voice is primal and refined, digs into a deep hollow place, then climbs out and soars.”

This concert is funded in part by grants from the New England Foundation for the Arts and Meet The Composer, Inc., with support from ASCAP, the Virgil Thomson Fund, and additional support from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Northampton Arts Council, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
