i worked for a company called schenley distiller for 37 years.we owned i w harper 86 proof and 100 proof bottle in bond. we made it kentucky.i believe frankfort, it was an excellent selling bourbon, now you cant even find it anyplace.
I have a half pint bottle of I.W. Harper Kentucky Stright Bourbon Whiskey, 86 proof. It has never been opened – it was found in my parents home after they passed. My father must of had it hidden from my mother for years and years and years. The glass bottle has raised letters on the back and the labels are in absolute perfect condistion, front & back. I would like to sell this treasure to an interested party. Mint condition.
please let me know if the bottle is still available and for sale.
i just got a bottle like you were asking about full sealed tax stamp with red iw harper bourbon 10 sticker intact but 1/10 pint
i have no idea what the value on this is maybe you can enlighten me and purchase it?
My father had an advertising agency, and Schenley Industries was his major client. The IW Harper ad with the orange-red background and the silhouette of the man tipping his hat was one of the most enduring images from that period (1940s). I’m not sure when the image originated. My father’s name was Otto Kleppner, and the agency was The Kleppner Company, 488 Madison Ave., NYC.
Susan- Thank you for stopping by and sharing your family history with us. Love this image. Please give my regards to your family. Best, Frank
