For over 20 years, author and photographer Frank Jump has been documenting fading advertisements of New York City. Visible, but less often seen, these ads cling to brick facades like forgotten relics of a bygone era. For Jump, fading ads are metaphors for survival and outliving expected lifetimes, a topic that is very personal to him. Don’t miss this chance to reposition your perspective to these ads hidden-in-plain-sight!

Listen to a podcast of Jump’s conversation with Leonard Lopate from WNYC.

All of these tours will be featured as part of the 2012 OHNY Weekend, October 6 & 7, 2012. All listing details for the Weekend will go live on our website in late September. Please check back then for specific dates, times and information about advance reservations, if required.

I will be there rain or shine. May be meeting at the Smyth Hotel Lobby if it is pouring.

Hey Frank! Looking forward to this walk and seems like the weather gods will be in our favor 😉 If there is a change let me know via this blog as my wife and I are coming in from Queens to do this …. see you later

Hi. I tried so hard to catch your tour! Running late, I took a cab and got to the meeting place at 11:08. I saw a group leaving and chased it for blocks. Wrong group. Searched and inquired all over. Never found it. Wish you had waited another minute.

So sorry Carol. There were volunteers that stayed behind with my itinerary… Tomorrow I’m in Tribeca! It was very successful today, over 100 people. I’m sure I’ll be doing this again soon. Best, Frank

Thanks, Frank. I’ll look forward to that. Not sure I can make it tomorrow.
